Studio 58 is one of Canada’s most respected professional theatre training programs — right here at Langara College.
For over 50 years, Studio 58 has launched the careers of some of the country’s most celebrated actors, playwrights, designers, and directors. But it’s more than a theatre program — it’s a proving ground for artists, a cultural hub, and a creative force that reaches far beyond the stage.
Productions are fully mounted with professional-level expectations — and performed for real audiences. Students work alongside industry mentors, gaining the hands-on experience and collaborative muscle they’ll need in the field. Many Studio 58 alumni go on to national and international careers in the arts.
But creating that level of excellence takes resources — and ticket sales alone don’t cover the cost of production or training.
With your support, we can:
- Fund scholarships and bursaries for emerging theatre artists
- Expand outreach opportunities to underserved communities
- Invest in new equipment, costumes, and stagecraft infrastructure
- Support original Canadian works and Indigenous storytelling on stage
Studio 58 is where brave stories are told, and brave artists are made. Every gift builds this house. Help us keep the spotlight shining on the next generation of Canadian theatre.
