Main Activities and Performances: Front Lawn (11:00 AM – 4:00 PM)
Block Party is the ultimate start to the fall semester, filling campus with music, activities, and opportunities to connect. From 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, the front lawn will be alive with performances, interactive stations, free refreshments, and spaces to gather with friends. The celebration officially begins at 12:00 PM with a welcome from Alec Dan, opening remarks from Dr. Paula Burns, and a performance by Coastal Wolf Pack, followed by student performances every 30 minutes starting at 12:30 PM.
The Department Fair runs from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM in the A Foyer, giving students the chance to meet academic and service departments and learn more about the resources available on campus. Promoter booths will be located on the front lawn, offering opportunities to connect with community partners. Recreational games and creative activities will run all afternoon, ranging from lawn games to hands-on art projects. Free snacks will be served hourly starting with burgers at 12:30, while supplies last.
Block Party Event Schedule
11:00 AM – Main activities begin on the front lawn
11:30 AM – Department Fair opens in the A Foyer
12:00 PM – Official Block Party opening • Welcome from Alec Dan and opening remarks from Dr. Paula Burns, President and CEO of Langara College followed by a performance by the Coastal Wolf Pack
12:30 PM – Performance by the Langara Bhangra Club • Free burgers served (while supplies last)
1:00 PM – Performance by Nyla and Julianne
1:30 PM – Performance by Rocks Music • Free cake served (while supplies last), care of the Langara Students' Union
2:00 PM – Performance by Gurkirat Singh • Department Fair ends
2:30 PM – Performance by Marshal King • Free slushies & popcorn served by Athletics & Campus Recreation (while supplies last)
3:00 PM – Performance by Camryn Vaughan
3:30 PM – Performance by Harman Maddhar
4:00 PM – Block Party ends
