Academic Advisors are here to provide admitted students with academic guidance. From planning for university transfer to understanding prerequisites, we can help you plan your educational path. 

Academic Advising offers both drop-in and appointment sessions. See below for topic(s) that are suitable for each type of advising session:

 

Drop-in

  • 5-10 minute sessions for brief questions

Appointment

  • 20 minute sessions

  • Understanding prerequisites and course attributes

  • Diagnostic tests (LET/MDT/PDT)

  • Applying for graduation

  • Understanding academic probation/suspension

  • Academic resource referrals

  • Creating realistic plans to achieve academic goals

Drop-in waiting rooms will close at 11:45 am and 3:45 pm. Please join before this time.

Note: Newly-admitted students are required to attend a Registration 101 workshop before individual advising.

Guidelines when using Academic Advising Services

  • Drop-ins are first come/ first served.
  • Use your Preferred Name as your Zoom display name.
  • Mic and Audio must be connected and switched on.
  • Each Drop-in session is 10 minutes maximum.
  • Each Appointment session is 20 minutes maximum.
  • Have your #Student number and Questions ready
  • Have paper and pen handy for note-taking.
  • Be respectful and practice good etiquette throughout the session.

Please note, booked appointments are unavailable from June 9-27, during our busy registration period.  Please visit an advisor in a drop-in session (schedule is above) or email us your questions.   If the Fall term is your first term, please attend a Registration 101 session as your first step.
