Professional Cardiovascular Assessment at Langara College
The VO₂ Max test is widely regarded as the most accurate method for assessing aerobic fitness. Our VO₂ Max testing service provides a high-quality, research-grade evaluation that is suitable for athletes, health-conscious individuals, and those interested in evidence-based training.
The test measures the maximum amount of oxygen your body uses when exercising intensely, which is a key indicator of cardiovascular fitness and endurance. Testing involves progressively increasing exercise intensity, generally on a treadmill or stationary bike, until exhaustion, while measuring oxygen consumption and carbon dioxide production.
The test uses either a treadmill or cycle ergometer, and is run by Kinesiology Department staff members.
Cost is $200 per test, which includes:
- Pre-assessment screening and orientation
- VO₂ Max test on treadmill or cycle ergometer
- Continuous gas exchange and heart rate monitoring
- Data collection using industry-standard metabolic equipment
- A detailed, individualized results report
Student and faculty rates may be available. Discounts are offered to teams or groups. Please inquire via email to kinesiology@langara.ca.
